Context variable are a set of property declarations.
Each variable has a default value. 

And then, there are contexts.
A context is a set of values for properties. More exactly, a context is
key/value set, where the keys are the context variables, and the values the
ones you set in the context.

By default, there is only one context, called "default".
You can create another one, for a simulation in TOS. This is the one you
will use during the simulation.

But at the export, you will export the default one, which has no value.
BTW, even if a default value (for a context variable) is exported in the
WSDL, its value can be overridden by the request.

And you asked for an example, but I already provided several samples in the
wiki. ;) 
The one you took is a good example. The only thing is the "base-message"
that must be changed. There is no generic request to send to a Talend
service. It depends on the WSDL that is generated for your job at the
export.
