About authentication, the BC SOAP support WS-Security, so you can use Rampar for example. It put the security soap header that it received into a property of the MessageExchange that it send to the service provider. Next, your component will read this property to authenticate the user. Perhaps it is better than using login/password as simple parameters because your componant could support advanced security.
