Hi,

In contrary of open ESB,PEtALS don't rely on a application server like glassfish to run.
It is an independent JBI container.
To interact with an application you have 2 choice.
The application runs in PEtALS, embedded in a 'Service Engine Component', thus the interaction with the JBI services in the bus is 'native'.
The application runs outside PEtALS, you must use a 'Binding Component', use a communication protocol to interact he JBI services in the bus.

If an application is not embedded in a SE, probably like Intalio (BTW i don't know at all this applivation), you can:
-Develop the SE to run Intalio in PEtALS.
-Uses a BC, like SOAP BC, to interact with Intalio. Thus, each JBI service is proxified by the BC SOAP.
