[Users] Configuration of components

Petals components are indeed configured with service-units, although there are other parameters in the jbi.xml file of the component.
One way to create service-units is by hand. The parameters to put in the jbi.xml file are described in the component's documentation (http://doc.petalslink.com/display/petalscomponents/Petals-BC-Filetransfer+3.x).
Another solution is to use the Eclipse tooling for Petals. It will guide you in the creation (http://doc.petalslink.com/display/petalsstudio11/Exposing+a+File+Management+Service) and tell you which parameters are required.
