Yes, I agree the RMI connector must be started on the same host than PEtALS. But a computer can have multiple network interfaces, and to me, it should be possible to specify on which interface the RMI connector has to listen.

If this limitation is a choice, I don't understand it. If it's a technical problem, I'd be glad to know more about it~
